“Let your roots grow down into Him and draw up nourishment from Him. See that you go on growing in the Lord and become strong and vigorous in the truth you were taught. Let your lives overflow with joy and thanksgiving for all He has done.”
Colossians 2:7 (TLB)
The Absolute Truth is that we need our Almighty God. In this world that is constantly changing with technology…with travel…with politics…Our lives are fluid…and changing…children change …friends change…our circumstances change…jobs come and go…relationship with our husband changes and the truth is, we change….And there are those who believe that truth is relative to our changing circumstances….which means that in their perspective, truth changes. Frightening….and despairing….But absolutely not true!
There is an Absolute Truth that never changes…Our Great God Almighty is Absolute…He is Absolute Truth…Absolute Truth is true for all people, for all times, and for all places, no matter what…and the Absolute Truth in John 14:6 tells us that Jesus said… “I am the Way, the Truth, and the Life…”
Jesus is the same yesterday, and today, and forever. Hebrews 13:8
God does not change. James 1:17
Our gift of HOPE is The Absolute Truth of who God is, what He says, His Ways and His Best….And once I accepted this definitively and applied it to my life in our family in tangible, applicable, practice-able ways, God changed the dynamics in our home, because He changed me!
The knowledge of God’s Hope for a future is what our children need….They have to have hope in their hearts! God’s BEST for us does not change. Absolute Truth is the gift of HOPE and it becomes an anchor for our sons and daughters…the children of our great Almighty God…It is an anchor for our families as the world changes….quickly…sometimes spiraling….
We are anchored in His Hope for our futures and in His relentless Love!
“For I know the plans I have for you,” says the Lord. “They are plans for good and not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.” Jeremiah 29:11
The question is how do we impart and teach this to our children so that they embrace their own faith…so that they are anchored with Absolute Truth?
“You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your strength. And these words which I command you today shall be in your heart. You shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk about them when you sit in your house, when you walk by the way, when you lie down and when you rise up. “Deuteronomy 6:5-7
Teach your children to adore their Almighty God…they can watch you. Teach these words diligently to your children…your infants…your toddlers…your elementary children, your middle school children, your high school teens…your college kids, your daughters-in-love and sons– in love…your grandchildren…your great-grandchildren….Talk about them with our children when you sit in your house…in a restaurant…when you walk in the park or in your neighborhood…when you lie down…at bedtime as you tell God goodnight…when you get up to start a new day….Sing to your children….Rise and Shine and Give God the Glory…..even if you cannot sing…do it anyway! Teach them that their Heavenly Father is trustworthy ALL of the time. Teach them that when they cannot see the future…or down the dark road…God is there to give to them just enough light for where they are. He lights the way toward His future for them and for His Hope for them as they live…as His time passes…as His BEST for them unfolds…The Absolute Truth is that He is worthy of our children’s trust.
How will we ever have time for all of this?
It is called a Life-time. It is called doing life with them…and when we are anchored in the Absolute Truth of our great and mighty God……it is possible…and it is God’s BEST for us!
May we allow the roots of our souls and our lives to grow deeply anchored in who God is…May we draw our nourishment and our sustenance from the Absolute Truth of God’s Word and of His promise…May we be firmly rooted and grounded and fixed and attached and founded and fastened…in Absolute Truth…being affirmed that nothing can snatch us from the Hand of our Father…we are secure…we are anchored…we are safe in His Absolute Truth. (John 10:29)
May you overflow with abundant joy,
