Welcome to Truth for Summer Sunday…
And Everyday …
I AM…Wants to be Known!
God in His Magnitude, His Majesty, His Might, His Mercy, The Creator, the Eternal, Everlasting, Forever God, the Shepherd God…has made Himself known to His creation…And yes, Creation Cries Out…
“For ever since the world was created, people have seen the earth and sky. Through everything God made, they can clearly see his invisible qualities—his eternal power and divine nature. So they have no excuse for not knowing God.” Romans 1:20
The Truth is that He wants to be Known…He wants you to know Him…He wants your precious ones to Know Him…and how wonderful that He KNOWS you…He KNOWS your precious ones.
I am constantly amazed by our God. And I am blessed by the truth that our God Almighty, the Most High God, pursued His people, and He spoke to and revealed His Identity…His Name…His Divine GLORY. When I read and study to whom our God spoke, I am deeply humbled and filled with incredible hope.
We are told in Exodus chapter three, that Moses, through God’s perfect provision, was saved from Pharaoh’s proclamation to kill the male children. Moses’ life began as a son of a Hebrew from the tribe of Levi and transitioned to the adopted child of Pharaoh’s daughter and a life of privilege. And then, in an act to protect a Hebrew from mistreatment by an Egyptian slave-master, Moses struck the Egyptian and killed him, causing Moses to flee to Midian, to escape from Pharaoh’s wrath, for the second time. And it is there, that he met Jethro and married his daughter, and became the shepherd of the flocks…From a prince in the palace, to a humble shepherd in the desert wilderness, with mess-ups in between.
By God’s divine purpose, timing, and plan, He ordained that Moses would be His instrument to lead, to protect, to preserve, and to prosper the Israelites as they escaped slavery in Egypt to journey into their land…The Promised Land. God chose Moses in spite of his weaknesses, his decisions, his sin; the God Almighty called Moses to lead and to shepherd His people, much like Moses did for the flocks of his father-in-law.
After forty years in the palace, as the son of the princess, and forty years in the desert, as a shepherd, God used every circumstance in the life of Moses to prepare him for the work that He, Yahweh would assign to him.
The LORD heard the cry of His people in their bondage, He remembered His promise, and at the appointed time and the ordained place, the LORD called Moses by name; Moses answered “Here I am.” And the LORD said…
“I AM the God of your father-the God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.” Exodus 3:6
The eighty years of Moses’ life had been preparation for the direct revelation of God…for the words He would speak to reveal His identity…and Moses certainly recognized the voice, the name, and the presence of the God of his fore-fathers, the patriarchs of his family.
SO THEY WILL KNOW
Moses did not have scripture to read, in fact, he would become the author of much of the history of the Hebrew people and of their relationship with Yahweh. Like parents today, and generations of parents before, Moses had been told, had been taught about the God of His people. The One True God…the God who is famous…the God who is Creator, the God who is Promise-Keeper, the God who is Eternal, ,the God who introduced Himself to Moses…the God who knows you…the God who wants to be known by you and your precious ones. The God who is I AM…who would many years later send HIS SON, Jesus Christ, to complete and fulfill the purpose and the plan of The GOD I AM…JESUS, I AM…
Today, on this Summer Sunday:
Tell your children and all those you love, this wonderful news. The God I AM wants to be known by you and by those you love…your precious ones. Our faithful God wants to introduce Himself to you…He wants to speak to you through His Word, and His Revelation through His Spirit…through JESUS CHRIST. Tell your precious ones SO THEY WILL KNOW! Sunday Blessings!
