Part Two…
‘But Then Moments…
Bring to our Remembrance and Do a New Thing-2019
“Your road led through the sea, your pathway through the mighty waters–a pathway no one knew was there!” Psalm 77:19
A New Thing…
It is one thing to remember the past works of God, but what do we do when we must wait on Him to answer? Why do we remember how to worry and forget how to trust Him?
For many years, I did not wait well. Perhaps you can identify. When I had to wait on God to move, often I would become discouraged and would give in to thoughts that God just didn’t hear me. I worried and lost sleep over the waiting. Having experienced many times when God did not remove me from circumstances, rather He led me through, I can now see value in the ‘wait’. Moments of remembering and of waiting become stepping stones of solid rock because God is faithful to plant seeds of belief, faith and trust along His Way. Like Asaph, worship and praise help me to remember, to recall the faithfulness of the LORD who never changes!
“You led your people along that road like a flock of sheep, with Moses and Aaron as their shepherds.” Psalm 77:20
As Asaph recounted the many works of the LORD throughout the history of the Israelites, listing them one by one, he must have been comforted when he remembered that no one else in the world could have and would have been able to lead the people through the threat of the Red Sea as the Egyptian armies pressed toward them. And, certainly, he would have been comforted as he remembered the tender, Shepherd’s Heart of God as He led His people, with Moses and Aaron as their shepherds. Yes, the LORD would see His people through the dark time. As Asaph remembered and worshipped, the LORD’s peace was with Him.
Oh my friends, Our LORD sent His Son, the Good Shepherd (John 10:11) the most wonderful Shepherd who leads us through this life along the path which only He knows, protecting and providing for His sheep, leading us home. And, yes, it is a journey one day at a time, one moment at a time. And, as we wait, He is faithful to lead, guide, love, and to offer His grace, His perfect mercy and grace…enough for each day, enough for each moment, enough for this New Year!
May we remember how to trust Him, each moment…each step…every day of our lives…Yes, we will wait-we will wait on our Shepherd and trust Him to lead us along the Way…His pathway! We will trust Him to Do a New Thing-2019! New Year Blessings…
Love you all in Jesus,
