I attended the dance recital of my oldest granddaughter this weekend and what a special experience to watch her move courageously onto a huge stage to perform her dances with her classmates. Beautiful little girls! What joyful moments…
Before intermission, a class of lovely girls of all ages, was assisted onto the stage in matching ballet tutus…radiant and glowing…each one with a Special Need. This was a class organized by Hope Therapy to provide opportunities for these young women to participate in their dream of dance…called “Ballerina Dreams”.
I was overcome with emotion as I watched each of these children share a gift that God had placed in her heart. We, the audience, had a rare moment of viewing and experiencing the authentic joy of each girl as she danced in her own ability with the beautiful music.
I believe that God has put His song in each person’s heart. Some of us allow the clanging of the world to drown out the the inspiration of His song…but for these girls, they clearly heard His song, His beckoning to them…and they danced…
“Little Girl, I say to you arise. “ Mark 5:41
“…He turns your mourning into dancing…and clothes you with joy…” Psalm 30
Broken Wings
So many things happen that we cannot explain…
So much suffering, so much pain.
Even creation feels the sting of diminished hopes and Broken Wings.
A gentle voice whispers:
“Fly little bird, you can soar; you were made
for so much more.
Sing your song for all to hear, your heart so pure,
your voice so clear.”
“Fly little butterfly from flower to flower, this truly is your
special hour.
Your wings must rest, your spirit strong, your beauty shared
where it belongs.”
“Dance little girl for all to see, for you
are called to victory.
Lift your face as your heart sings, for you can dance with
Broken Wings.”
So many things happen that you cannot explain; yes, there is
suffering and there is pain.
But God reaches down and takes the sting…He gently holds
those with Broken Wings.
Daughters, each one of us experiences some form of Broken Wings in our lifetimes…
May you always remember that your Heavenly Father reaches His Hands and His Heart to hold you…because He adores you, His Daughters of Truth.
Joyfully,
